Float Rating Course

This course includes up to 10 hours of flight time and 5 hours of ground instruction, the course syllabus, and the FAA Seaplane Flying Handbook. Clients typically begin flying Monday and in most cases ready for the Checkride as early as Friday, weather permitting.We will be opening for Float Flying May 18, 2026, through to October 2nd out of Lake Hood.

*You can take the course without a checkride, but if you want your Airplane Single Engine Sea Add-On Rating, a checkride is required. The cost is $1000, paid directly to the DPE.
