Scholarships
A core value of Alaska Floats & Skis @ AK8 is giving back. Most of us have clawed our way up into the industry, taking advantage of every flight minute we could and working very hard to make any progress. We are dedicated to bringing people up into this industry with high quality training for our staff, a CFI Course to produce amazing instructors, and by providing scholarships to move pilots forward in their skill set and career. Each scholarship is decided upon by various community panels and programs with different criteria and deadlines. Women in Aviation, specifically, is a collaboration with a female flight instructor donating their instruction, and Carol Zerbe, a female DPE, who donates her checkride. Scholarships create purpose in what we do and we are very thankful for the opportunity to live and fly in such an amazing place and be able to share that with others.
