Mountain Flying Course
In 3 flights (one each day), including up to 8 hours of flight time and 2 hours of ground instruction, you will explore the intricacies of flying the highest mountains in North America. Mountain flying is a very unique skill set and in this course you will learn about weather planning, decision-making, airflow patterns, specific mountain flying techniques, and risk mitigation. Explore the Alaska Range, Talkeetna Mountains, and northern Chugach Mountains in all their glory- full of glaciers, wild animals, and astounding peaks. The stay of 5 days will give some flexibility for weather and any other flying you would prefer to mix in (floats/bush).
Mountain flight only
2.5 hours and 1 hour of ground instruction into the Alaska Range (aircraft hourly rate + $100/hour ground instruction).
