David Weaver

Owner/CEO - CFII

David is one of Alaska's newest residents. Having recently relocated from the smaller state of Texas (sorry Texans), David cut all ties with the big city life in Houston and committed to a one-way adventure to the last frontier, fulfilling a life-long ambition that began on a family trip at the age of 10. "My father introduced me to the amazing state of Alaska at an early age and 'The Call of the Wild' only became louder with passing time." David's passion for flying began at an early age, where he obtained his private pilot license at the age of 17 and went on to Embry-Riddle (Daytona) to complete the Professional Pilot and Aerospace Engineering programs. Not one to follow convention, David began his aviation career as an Engineer with the Swedish Air Force that led to the once in a lifetime opportunity to join NASA as an Instructor, where he trained both Astronauts and Astronaut candidates in the operation of the Electrical Power Systems for the International Space Station and served over a decade in the Mission Evaluation Room, supporting missions in real-time. As with many clients of Alaska Floats and Skis, David became a fiercely loyal and repeat customer. Today, we are now excited to welcome David to the Alaska Floats and Skis team

Eric Andersen

Chief Instructor - CFII

Eric was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Ohio, but spent many years in Utah, ultimately working his way toward a dream of moving to Alaska to fly. He is passionate about exploring the outdoors including skiing, biking, hiking, kayaking, climbing, and so much more. Anything to get out into the mountains and nature. He volunteers with the Civil Air Patrol and and works as a flight instructor full-time. He has explored by air all over the mountains of the western U.S. and this gorgeous state of Alaska. He is thrilled to share this experience with you.

Blake

CFII

Blake never leaves an adventure unanswered. Born and raised in the southeastern United States, he found his first passion on the back of a dirt bike in the rolling hills of western North Carolina. From then on, the call of the wild never ceased. Following his love for the outdoors, as a teen he moved to the mountains of British Columbia to work as an operator on a large organic carrot farm. Nearing the end of his stay in Canada, he found himself gripping the cyclic in the right seat of a turbine helicopter. His next passion saw him pursuing the merger of operation and exploration - flight! He moved back to the eastern U.S. and began his aviation journey at Crystal Air in Tennessee. There he learned to fly fixed wing and began to share his love of the sky through flight instructing. Like John Muir, the Mountains eventually called him back, this time further north. He received his float rating at AKFS in 2023 and immediately knew he wanted to fly the backcountry of Alaska. He's feels incredibly blessed share his love of the skies, nature, and adventure with others!
